25 Jun Women in STEM & Schedule update
Few things are sexier than the moment an equation I have been wrestling with for far too long finally gives in.
At first, I think I can handle it. I start slowly, confidently, certain I can take it, certain this little problem will bend to my will. But soon enough, I choke on it. It is bigger than I anticipated. And honestly, I do not mind a little struggling. It only makes me more motivated. I try different techniques. I go deeper. I change the angle completely. Most of the time, it just takes patience, focus, and a little care.
And then, suddenly, it all comes together.
That moment of sweet release, when the answer finally pops, is pure ecstasy. The satisfaction lingers. Sweet, sharp, and delicious. Success has a taste, and I like to savour it long after.
Of course, not all heat is academic. Right now, I am soaking hot. Not because I am in heat, although I would never rule that out, but because my room feels like a sauna. My city is blazing, with temperatures above 35 degrees, and my poor little room is even hotter. Fortunately, I managed to buy a small AC, which is doing its best to keep both my brain and body functioning. When that is not enough, I escape to a cool, air-conditioned café, where I can flirt with my textbooks instead.
This week, I am studying for my final exams of the semester, spending long days and late nights with my other love: science. She is demanding, unforgiving, and likes to keep me on my knees in front of the desk until I finally get it right.
After that, summer begins, for me too. You will see me dance and … prepare. I will be travelling to China for a short science course at a university, but don’t worry, I will also take time to rest and enjoy the country during my stay.
When I return, I hope to welcome familiar faces again, and perhaps a few new lovers too. For the kind of heat we do want in our bodies. For intimacy, pleasure, laughter, and that delicious feeling of two people coming together beautifully.
Sweet kisses. <3
